6:25 am - Broad Daylight...
Well, not actually. It's still quite dark out. Bother.

Fell asleep on the couch last night at 8 or so, then woke and hauled myself off to bed around 11:30, knowing full well that it meant I'd be up long before the crack of dawn. Sure enough, the rest of the night was me waking up every hour or so, with the body saying "Get up! Get up!" and the mind saying "Go back to sleep, damnit!" The mind finally gave up at 5 a.m., which if you add it up is the better part of nine hours worth of sleep. I just wish I felt more rested.

The weather continues to be spring-like, as it has been all week. Yesterday the temperature hit 63°, a new record high for the day. It's currently 55° outside. The plants are mightily confused. The lawn has yet to start hibernating for the winter. It's not exactly growing, but it's still as green as it would be in late spring. And apparently, the crabapple trees at Colt State Park in Bristol have started blooming. Yikes!

It's nearly 70 here in DC today--my windows are wide open. It's lovely, but bizarre. And apparenlty the cherry blossoms are going to be all KINDS of off schedule.

Yeah, I've got a couple open, too. It's in the sixties here. So very weird.
