11:14 pm - That's Just... Neat
Okay, having Kari Matchett play Nathan Ford's ex-wife on tonight's Leverage was a stroke of genius.

OTOH, showing mountains in the background of a series that is supposed to be set in Chicago, not so much.

I haven't seen tonight's episode, but I love her! It would be sweet if he had a hand in casting her.

I'm pretty sure they're in LA now. Can't tell you why.

eta: Actually, Sophie mentioned tonight that Nate had recruited her in Chicago. The way she said it, they weren't there now.

I've been thinking way too much about this. It also occurred to me that the faked earthquake they used to fool security in the ep couldn't possibly have worked in Chicago. OTOH, they were clearly in Chicago in the pilot, and they've been based in Leverage HQ ever since, so did they just up and move to LA at the end of the pilot? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I also vaguely recall other Chicago stock shots later in the series, although I haven't tracked any down. (What I did track down was a California mountain that clearly made a wrong turn at Albuquerque and wound up in a shot labeled "Something or Other Farms, Kentucky.")

Tell you what--I'll pay specific attention when they rerun on the 24th.

I've always admired your willingness to take one for the team.

Research complete! At the start of the second episode the location text for the HQ says LA.

Now to keep watching...
