Blah, Humdrum...

So, the most recent work project from hell is safely finished, and I can actually get out of here at a reasonable hour for a change. Which means it's time to do some Christmas shopping. <crickets...>

I did manage to pick up a few things the other night, but I still need gifts for 5 siblings, 4 nephews, 3 nieces, 2 good friends, and a sister-in-a-pear-treelaw. Plus three BiLs and brother #1's GF. And I have exactly zero motivation to do any of this.

It's not so much that I mind going out and braving the crowds. It's that I have absolutely no idea what to get anyone, so it's not so much searching for a gift as figuring out what to give in the first place. The brothers and BiL's are especially tough. I suspect it's going to be an impulse buy Christmas. Or maybe a gift card Christmas. Fa la la di dah...

I was reading casperflea's post about how it's kind of a drag to be spoiled for a good present. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised when you open the box, and everything in it is unexpected and just neat. It occurred to me that Secret Santa gifts are almost always surprises, given that you have no idea who's even giving you the present until it arrives.

Ooh, look at the time. Shopping ho! (ho ho)
