Ever since our consultant patched our main Novell server, it's been losing about six minutes a day. Apparently Novell completely ignores the hardware clock on the server, which is dead accurate, prefering to keep time in it's own fashion, which is now wrong.

RI Department of Transportation, because of the clusterfrell they've made of the construction around Quonset. Every day they have some new road blocked.

20) Story behind your LJ username:
It's a pun on deus ex machina (god out of machine), a term from Greek drama. Started using the name Daeus X. Machina as the name of the fictional computer demon who used to guard my files on the mainframe at URI from evil Melanie back when I was still in grad school. I kept the character around for various things, and when I signed up for AOL way back when, I wanted to use it as my user name, but it was too long, so I shortened it to DXMachina.
